Tuesday, August 24 at 7pm: “The Barns of Upper Laurel”– Open to the public– A talk by ABA researcher Taylor Barnhill. Free. in the auditorium of the Ebbs Chapel Community Arts Center, at 271 Laurel Valley Road. Great opportunity to learn more about the barns of the southern Appalachians. SEPTEMBER

Saturday, September 11 ANNUAL BARN DAY at the Lodge at Bear River this year. 1pm for a tour of the area barns followed by BBQ Dinner and local music beginning around 5pm. Tickets will go on sale to members — August 1 through 14 and then open to all on August 15th. Watch for details.

ANNUALLY

Barn Day (Tour & Dinner): Since 2014, the ABA has sponsored a guided 3-hour tour of historic barns led by researcher/ historian Taylor Barnhill. After the tour, participants are treated to a dinner and local music at a rustic location.

Pastoral Palette Art Gala: Partnering with the artists of The Saints of Paint in Asheville, the ABA hosts a Friday evening Gala with light food and wine while participants browse and buy paintings of rural landscapes. Wonderful art combined with delicious food and drink makes for an truly enjoyable evening!
