Win this exquisite quilt–“Mediterranean Garden” handcrafted by quilter and supporter of the Appalachian Barn Alliance Cathy Bullman Stines. The quilt measures the size for a queen size bed–82″ x 82″ . Raffle tickets are available from any ABA board member for 1 for $2; 4 for $5; or 12 for $10. The final drawing for the quilt will be at 3pm on Saturday, June 10th at the ABA’s booth at the Bluff Mountain Festival. You can purchase tickets there on that day from 10am to 2:45pm. And, the quilt will be on display beginning at 10am there. You need not be present to win but will need to make arrangements for pick up.
Cathy, who lives in the Laurel area, grew up in Madison County– a seamstress from the age of 14– and took up quilting just 17 years ago. With the help of relatives and classes in addition to computer knowledge, she conquered the skill that has earned her ribbons at local fairs and in area shows. Currently she pieces the tops of quilts and hires a person who has a long arm quilting machine to do the quilting. Making quilts gives her “great peace of mind.” The ABA is grateful to Cathy for donating this beautiful quilt to help us raise money for our work at the Smith Farm.
